Join the National Safety Stand Down to Prevent Falls OSHA has designated May 2-6, 2016 for the third annual stand down to prevent falls in construction. SEAA encourages members to make use of materials the association provides specific to working at heights in Steel Erection as you plan your company's stand down activities. SEAA Fall Hazard Training Module ($200 for members; $295 for non-members), was developed with training guidelines established by ANSI Z490.1-2001, and was last updated in 2014. The program is accompanied by a bilingual instructor’s guide, pre-planning checklist, discussion topics, and video. Among the topics covered: Each of the fall protection systems used in steel erection and their appropriate use. Common slip, trip and fall hazards associated with typical tools of the trade, including ladders, scaffolds, and aerial lifts. Proper Installation of guard rails, safety nets, vertical and horizontal lifelines. In addition, fall prevention is one of a dozen topics covered in the SEAA/NCCER Ironworker Level 1 trainee and instructor guides, providing introduction to a variety of hazard prevention topics.
