SEAA Remembers Robert Beauchamp We regret to announce the sudden passing of Robert Beauchamp on August 2, 2016 from complications with liver cancer. Robert was past-president of National Institute of Steel Detailing (NISD). A long-time board member of NISD, over the years he also held roles as vice-president, secretary, and treasurer. He was also active in AISC, NESDA, and CISC. Robert was a good friend and supplier to many SEAA members. Hailing from Montreal, Quebec, Robert founded R.B. Designs in 1976 and then began exploring the U.S. market in 1979. His company Datadraft Structural Detailing Systems Inc. worked with many SEAA members over the years. He was known for his love of the profession, his support of the steel construction industry, his sense of humor and his passion for life. As co-author and illustrator of both the first and second editions of the SEAA/NISD Detailing Guide, his impact on the industry continues today.
