Hercules Bolt Company Now Carries the Blind Bolt Hercules Bolt Company, Madison, Tenn., is one of two U.S. distributors of The Blind Bolt product. Designed for structural connections into round, hexagonal and square tube, the Blind Bolt is appropriate for any application where access to the back face of the connection is not possible. “Blind Bolts are being used in a large number of steel construction projects, for example, every one of the five terminals at London’s Heathrow Airport used Blind Bolts in new build and renovation,” said Julian Imm, of The Blind Bolt Company. The use of Blind Bolts allow structural engineers to connect to tubular sections without the need for special tools. Installation is very fast and the Blind Bolt can also be removed and re-installed. Sizes are available from 5/16 to 1 inch diameter. Installation only requires the bolt to be inserted into the hole and rotated 180 degrees. A toggle drops into place and when tightened the load is taken by the bolt body.
