Buckner Companies, Graham, N.C., is targeting high school, community college, technical school, and university students. Activities will demonstrate the importance of craft training and the many career opportunities available in the steel industry. "Our intention is to have representatives from SEAA, NCCER, and AISC participating," said Eddie Williams, Buckner Chairman of the Board. "NASCAR driver David Starr and spokesperson for NCCER, will talk about vocational and craft training in his career." Last year 110 students participated in Buckner's Steel Day. The company hopes to double participation this year.
